WHEEL OF FORTUNE Tarot Card Meaning

The Wheel of Fortune tarot card is one of the most highly symbolic cards in the major arcana. And this is especially evident when using a version of the Rider Waite deck.

Each of the four corners of the card contain one of the fixed signs of the Zodiac.

Aquarius (the angel), Scorpio (the eagle), Leo (the Lion) and Taurus (the bull). All of these symbols have wings to denote their divinity.

The Hebrew letters going around the wheel represent T A R O. This is TAROT if you return to the top. And the I H V H represents the sacred, unpronounceable name of God.

LIFE HAS UPS AND DOWNS

The Wheel of Fortune tarot card reminds us there are good times in our lives. But there are also bad times. We all experience ups and downs in life. While it would be great if everything were up all the time, it would make life boring.

What goes up must come down at some point.  In good times we need to be appreciative of positive things happening in our lives. In bad times, we should not become overly discouraged. Nothing lasts forever.

This tarot card represents the planet Jupiter. In it’s presence we can experience expansion of ideas. We can expect change and movement in our material circumstances.

New opportunities can appear and we should grab them. The Wheel of Fortune can also signify a new chapter in our lives is starting. It may reveal we need to make a major decision.

WHEEL OF FORTUNE UPRIGHT INTERPRETATION

In its upright position, the Wheel of Fortune reminds us that luck is on our side. It also nudges us to take the bull by the horns if need be to get things moving in our lives.

The Wheel of Fortune tarot card shows us how destiny comes to play in our lives. Have we done something in this lifetime to incur karma? Was it positive or negative?

If so the Wheel of Fortune shows us that our karmic debt is coming due. Unless already paid, of course. The Wheel of Fortune shows us we are being dealt what the Universe is dealing out to us at the moment. Whether we like it or not, we must find a way to deal with it. We will not be able to reverse it.

The Wheel of Fortune tarot card shows us that change is rapidly approaching. These changes could be swift and sudden.

The changes may be unfamiliar to us and require us to embark on a different path than the one we’re currently on. The Wheel is also about being optimistic about events that may appear otherwise. We must learn to trust and have faith in the Universe when the Wheel of Fortune tarot card is present in a tarot reading.

REVERSED INTREPRETATION

When the Wheel of Fortune tarot card is reversed in a tarot card reading, we should expect a period of bad luck and things not going as planned. This can send you into a tail spin if you try to maintain control over the situation. Because at present you’re at the hands of fate.

The run of bad luck could also be the result of bad decisions made in the past. A reversed Wheel of Fortune tarot card can also indicate you’re experiencing negative karmic debt for words, actions or deeds committed against another.

If you’re not open to making necessary changes in your life, a reversed Wheel of Fortune can indicate resistance to change, particularly if being forced upon you. You may not want to make these changes, but the hand of fate and powers of the Universe dictate these changes shall and must be made. Either surrender and make the change, or the Universe will drag you kicking and screaming through the change process so you make them anyway.
