The Hierophant tarot card is the male equivalent of The High Priestess card. In some decks this card is call The High Priest. The Hierophant tarot card stands for knowledge in the physical world. And he represents “the pope” which indicates religious structure and dogma. In most tarot card decks the Hierophant is raising his right hand very similar to The Magician. But the Hierophant is giving his blessing to his flock.  At his feet lie two crossed keys which represent the keys to the kingdom. When he is present in a reading you may benefit from joining an organization or group of people with similar interests.
